T-Craft Pictures - June 2008

For the first time in club history, the club voted to purchase a project airplane.  The airplane is Wally Olson's old Taylorcraft BC-12D, N43387.  This is one of Wally's old trainer planes that many pilots at Evergreen have flown at one time or another.

The idea behind the purchase is to allow club members to learn about various aspects of restoring antiques/classics.  The purchase was proposed by the Executive Board.  It was their desire to get more members involved in different club activities.  The purchase price was $9,000.  The airplane is nearly complete except for an engine, prop and miscellaneous items.  The wings have new spars and are covered.  The fuselage has new stringers, frame is prepped/painted and is covered.  The tail feathers and ailerons are covered.  Jeff Paulsen, from Evergreen Flying Service has purchased parts for us at his cost.  He has agreed to inspect/sign off and also test fly the rebuilt plane.
